Spring Has Sprung! Check Out These Wildflowers Near You


Everywhere you turn in Sonoma County, you see green grasses blowing in the wind, yellow mustard filling the fields with optimism and purple lupine threading along the countryside.


With early rains and mild temperatures, it's time to take a stroll through the beautiful hills of Sonoma County and soak up the beauty. Grab a picnic lunch, some water and a light jacket and head to one of these locations for a delightful adventure!



Renowned seasonal flower displays! The park includes four miles of trails to choose from, including some which feature sweeping views of the Sonoma valley.



Hosting a diverse variety of wildflowers in early spring, Foothill Rregional Park has Home to 6.8 miles of tree-shaded trails and three small fishing lakes! You will love the beautiful blue sky lupine, as well as poppies, sun cups, blue dicks, shooting stars, and other spring blooms. Don't miss it!



Looking for a family-friend venture? This easy hike with lots of wildflowers is next to the Russian River--perfect for small kids and slow walkers alike. Enjoy lunchh in thhe picnic area with BBQs and horseshoe pits.


Prefer an ocean view?


Sonoma Coast State Park, 17 miles long, from Bodega Head to 4 miles north of Jenner


Check out these two excellent trails – Kortum and Pomo Canyon – which begin at Shell Beach, located at about the park's coastal midway point. Kortum Trail proceeds straight along cliff tops to Goat Rock, a beloved local landmark with a wonderful beach for tide-pooling. It's a relatively easy hike, about five miles round trip. Pomo Canyon Trail leaves Shell Beach and heads east, crossing Highway 1 and then traveling upward into a redwood forest with a waterfall. This is a moderate hike, approximately 7 miles round trip.
