In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, a limerick:
It’s St. Patrick's Day so we celebrate,
The lush Emerald Isle, so great
The parades are so grand,
Across our fair land,
A leprechaun is a fine date!
Sonoma County is “puttin’ on the green’ as it dresses the lush rolling hills in
verdant green—just in time for St. Paddy’s Day. In order to celebrate Sonoma
County’s wearin’ o’ the green, let’s take a look at some fun local St. Patrick’s Day
activities. And keep reading for a tasty recipe for Irish Soda Bread—just like
Grandma (or somebody’s Grandma) used to make!
The Healdsburg March
Join the Healdsburg community for a fun march down Healdsburg Avenue,
starting at 7 a.m. at Sanderson Ford (453 Healdsburg Ave), all the way around Healdsburg Plaza, and back again. Make sure to wear your festive green attire and dress in green layers as it may be chilly!
After the parade, grab a chair and celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Plaza Park with an afternoon (12 noon to 2 p.m.) of traditional Celtic music and Irish step dancing. Who knows? You may even spot a leprechaun or two!
